Quebec is seeking to deepen cooperation with Indonesia in high-technology and renewable energy sectors, including semiconductors, aerospace, quantum computing, and clean energy development. The Quebec government has invited Indonesian companies to explore collaboration opportunities in major innovation hubs, while Indonesia expressed readiness to strengthen dialogue and business partnerships, supported by the Indonesia–Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (ICA-CEPA), signed in September 2025 and expected to take effect in 2026.
Officials from both sides view ICA-CEPA as a milestone to expand trade and investment, especially as Quebec looks to diversify its economic partners and Indonesia emerges as a priority market in Asia. Bilateral trade between Indonesia and Quebec reached over US$380 million in 2024, with strong potential for growth in technology, digital innovation, and critical minerals essential for the global energy transition.
