PT Piaggio Indonesia (PID) has confirmed that they will bring the electric scooter Vespa Elettrica to Indonesia this year, in line with the government's policy to accelerate the use of electric vehicles. Vespa Elettrica, Piaggio's first electric model, aims to meet the market demand for eco-friendly vehicles and is based on the Vespa Primavera. Ayu Hapsari, PR & Communication Manager of PT Piaggio Indonesia, announced that Vespa Elettrica will be available in Indonesia this year. The scooter, with its similar design to Vespa Primavera, features changes such as the absence of an exhaust pipe, as the engine and transmission components are replaced with a controller, battery, and a hub-mounted motor.
The electric identity is reflected in the 'Elettrica' emblem on the rear shield. Vespa Elettrica offers advanced technology, including three riding modes (Eco, Power, and Reverse), regenerative braking for recharging the battery, a 4.3-inch full digital TFT instrument panel, and smartphone connectivity with Vespa MIA via Bluetooth. The scooter is equipped with a 86 Ah 48.1 V lithium-ion battery that takes approximately 4 hours to charge and provides a range of up to 100 km. The motor delivers a power equivalent to 5.3 hp and a peak torque of 200 Nm.
