Generali Indonesia Promotes Women's Empowerment in the World of Work

In commemoration of International Women's Day, PT Asuransi Jiwa Generali Indonesia (Generali Indonesia) held a talk show with the theme Embrace Equity," which was held on Wednesday (15/3/2023), at the Generali Head Office, Jakarta. In this activity, Generali Indonesia emphasized that women have the same position and opportunity to continue to develop and have a career in all fields.

The Chief Marketing Officer of Generali Indonesia, Vivin Arbianti Gautama, said that women have unique and strong characteristics. Their ability to think in more detail, be more careful, and multitask, makes women more qualified and reliable, including in the world of work.
"This commitment to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI, is part of the Generali Group's global strategy, which wants to turn diversity into a long-term value to continue to be innovative, sustainable, and a differentiating value for Generali. At Generali Indonesia itself, we have a work environment that is based on trust and empowerment, where we do not discriminate between gender, background, or the diversity of employees," said Vivin.

In line with Generali Indonesia's commitment to equality, the Global Equality Index (GEI) research report released by Bloomberg shows that there will be an increase in gender equality in the world of work in 2022. In addition, the pillar of women's leadership has improved, but it is still low and remains a challenge.
The report also shows that the share of women at the CEO level is 7.5% and at the executive level is 23%. Through the results of this research, Generali Indonesia will continue to encourage every employee, especially women, to continuously develop themselves.
On the same occasion, the Chief of Human Capital at Generali Indonesia, Rully Safari, added that Generali Indonesia itself has a balanced composition of employees between women and men. Likewise with the composition of the leaders in the company.

"On the other hand, the commitment to gender equality that we echo is also a form of support for sustainable development, where the fifth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals is 'Achieving Gender Equality and Empowering Women'. At Generali, every employee has the same opportunity to build self-esteem and develop their skills," he added.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are the fundamental pillars of the cultural transformation echoed by the Generali Group to create value for others and society. Generali Indonesia also has governance that involves all corporate leaders and the international community in monitoring the implementation of DEI values.
