Piaggio Unveils its Updated Electric Scooter

EICMA 2022 hosted a number of different manufacturers and Piaggio too made it to the list. And the Italian brand unveiled its updated electric scooter, the 2023 Piaggio 1. Here’s what you should know about it.  Piaggio offers the new 1 in three trims: standard, 1+ and 1 Active. All three models share the same design – apron-mounted LED illumination, quirky overall design with compact side panels, and youthful styling.  All three models differ in terms of their output figures. The Piaggio 1’s maximum output is rated at 2.3kW while the 1+ and 1 Active are rated at 3kW. The aforementioned figures are almost twice the first model dished out. The top speed for the base and Plus model is 45kmph and that for the Active trim is 60kmph. And the claimed range is 55km, 100km, and 85km for the base, Plus, and Active respectively. On the feature front, the electric scooter gets LCD, keyless operation, ride modes, and other basic readouts like the speedometer, odometer, tripmeter, battery level, and more.  The suspension setup on the Piaggio electric scooter remains unchanged – single-sided front forks and dual rear shocks, Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises a single front and rear disc mounted on alloys.  Piaggio currently offers the 1 electric scooter only in select international markets. And it will be a while before we see it on Indian roads. However, there are other electric scooter options here like the Ola S1, Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak and more.
