Indonesia's Textile Sector Draws 20 Triliun Rupiah Investment as Factories Shift toward Smart Manufacturing

Data from the Ministry of Industry shared during the Indo Intertex-Inatex 2026 exhibition indicates that Indonesia's textile and textile products (TPT) sector successfully secured 20.23 trillion rupiah in investments and currently employs approximately 3.96 million workers. This heavy influx of capital underscores the sector's continued role as a pillar of national manufacturing and exports. To sustain competitiveness against global market fluctuations, domestic garment factories are being heavily driven to adopt smart manufacturing technologies. Highlighting this shift, tech provider Jack Technology recently launched "SmartLink Master" a smart factory ecosystem integrated with Siemens’ digital twin software and AI systems designed to help Southeast Asian manufacturers optimize production lines and rapidly adapt to shifting consumer demands.

Long-term growth indicators reinforce the strategic necessity of this digital transformation. According to a report by IMARC Group, Indonesia's textile manufacturing market value stood at roughly 42 billion USD in 2025 and is projected to expand to 64.2 billion USD by 2034, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.84 percent. Industry experts note that shifting toward automated, data-driven systems is no longer optional for local businesses aiming to lower operating overheads and speed up delivery timelines. Companies that move quickly to adopt these high-tech systems are expected to capture a larger share of regional supply chains, positioning the domestic textile industry as a long-term engine for national economic growth.
