Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa emphasized the importance of strengthening private sector participation as a key driver of Indonesia’s economic growth amid ongoing global uncertainty. Speaking at the Jogja Financial Festival 2026 in Yogyakarta, he stated that sustainable growth should be supported by both government spending and stronger private sector activity. The government is currently improving the investment climate through strategic initiatives, including the Debottlenecking Task Force, to encourage broader business participation and increase national competitiveness.
Purbaya also highlighted Indonesia’s improving fiscal management and more efficient budget allocation, noting that the government aims to maintain stable deficits while accelerating economic expansion. He confirmed there are no plans to increase tax rates, focusing instead on creating a healthier economy that supports voluntary tax compliance and stronger investment activity. The collaboration between government institutions and private enterprises is expected to strengthen long-term economic resilience, financial inclusion, and job creation across the country.
