The Ministry of Industry stated that 63 Indonesian startups will participate in this year's Hannover Messe. They will be part of hundreds of Indonesian companies participating in the event.
"At the Hannover Messe, the Ministry of Industry presented 65 startups from 156 Indonesian companies," said the Director General of Resilience, Territory, and International Industrial Access of the Ministry of Industry, Eko Cahyanto in an online discussion, Monday (5/4).
The Hannover Messe is the world's largest industrial technology exhibition. This event will present various faces of the industry from various countries.
Eko stated that the government deliberately presented dozens of Indonesian startups at the Hannover Messe so that they could get partners or investors to develop their businesses. In addition, the companies that will be performing at the Hannover Messe also have the potential to attract global markets.
"This is the largest industrial technology exhibition in the world in the last 72 years. In the past two years, the participants were 65 thousand and visited by 225 thousand people per year," said Eko.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said the Hannover Messe would be opened on April 12, 2021. The event will be opened directly by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the Chancellor of Germany.
"It is hoped that with this Hannover Messe, which is opened with digital and fully digital cast, Indonesia is expected to become an official partner physically or hybrid in 2023," said Airlangga.
For information, the government has prepared several collaborations in the industrial sector in the Hannover Messe event. This is either government to government (G to G) or business to business (B to B).
