Various efforts have been made by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) to improve the quality of Bali tourism ahead of the opening of the free covid corridor tourism scheme for foreign tourists. One of them is by launching an application called 'Telusur' which guides tourists while on the Island of the Gods.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno, said the application made by the country's children was able to increase awareness, as well as the implementation of strict and disciplined health protocols while tourists were in Bali.
"We continue to improve preparations for the opening of Bali tourism and today we are discussing an application that will help comply with health protocols, this application is called Telusur," said Sandiaga Uno in launching the Telusur application at Surya Kafe Benoa, South Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali, Sunday. (21/3), as quoted from the official statement received by Kumparan.
The application, he continued, has many functions, including monitoring the status to the occupancy level of tourist destinations, from hotels, restaurants to resorts in Bali. Interestingly, this application can also provide information about recommendations for less crowded tourist destinations that tourists can visit, in order to prevent crowds.
"This Telusur will provide information about the location, for example we are currently at Surya Cafe Benoa, what is the level of this restaurant, how many visitors, and if for example it is full it will also provide a kind of warning for locations, this tourist destination is in a full situation, "said Sandiaga.
In addition, Sandiaga explained that the Telusur application was also able to track all users while on vacation in Bali. So that the existence of all tourists while in Bali is fully monitored.
"So this Telusur can help us for tracing and tracking, because once Bali is opened, there are three green zones, so later for example tourists who come and they are registered in this application, they can be monitored," he explained.
Later, Kemenparekraf will collaborate with all relevant stakeholders, starting from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Communication and Information and the Provincial Government of Bali. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that the Telusur application can be developed and integrated with a number of government and community applications.
"We will enter Alpha Testing, Alpha 1-Alpha 2, after that Beta Testing and the plan is that before Bali opens June-July, we can go live, sometime in May (2021)," Sandiaga concluded.
