Aceh's Trade Balance Records US$6.64 Million Surplus Amid Export Growth

The Aceh Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reported that Aceh's foreign trade balance recorded a surplus of US$6.64 million during the December 2025 period. This positive achievement was driven by a 2.42 percent increase in export value, reaching a total of US$59.69 million compared to imports worth US$53.16 million. Coal remains the primary export contributor, accounting for 71.07 percent of the total, followed by other flagship commodities such as CPO, coffee, and spices. This growth demonstrates the continued strength of Aceh's local products in international markets, particularly with key trading partners like India, Thailand, and the United States.

For association members and business players, this positive trend offers renewed optimism for the market development of Aceh's flagship commodities in 2026. The increase in export value is also in line with the rising Farmers' Exchange Rate (NTP) in the region, reflecting improved welfare at the producer level. The regional government remains committed to optimizing the use of local ports in Aceh to reduce logistics costs and increase the efficiency of shipping goods abroad. With strong synergy between the mining and agricultural sectors, Aceh is expected to maintain its foreign trade stability to support sustainable regional economic growth.
