The Indonesia SEZ Business Forum 2025, hosted by the Secretariat General of the National Council for Special Economic Zones, brought together 737 local and international participants to strengthen investment opportunities across 25 SEZs. Senior government officials highlighted SEZs as catalysts for economic transformation, emphasizing integrated infrastructure, simplified licensing, and competitive incentives. Speakers underscored the SEZs’ role in advancing industrialization and downstreaming, with the latter contributing IDR431 trillion, or 13.1% of total realized investment, reflecting strong value creation. Regulatory reforms—including a positive fictitious approval mechanism and Service Level Agreements—were positioned as key steps in boosting transparency and efficiency.
The forum featured panel discussions on enhancing the global competitiveness of Indonesia’s SEZs, dialogues on sustainable growth, and business pitching sessions involving 18 zones. Its one-on-one business matching exceeded expectations, attracting over 70 formal registrants alongside substantial spontaneous demand from investors. Fourteen showcase booths by SEZ developers demonstrated readiness, facilities, and investment potential. The event fostered dynamic collaborations aimed at expanding supply chain integration, strengthening tourism, and encouraging long-term, innovation-driven growth. It also reinforced Indonesia’s ambition to position its SEZs as leading investment destinations within the Southeast Asian region.
