Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi confirmed that Indonesia is speeding up the procurement of 30 new KRL trainsets in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives. The acquisition will combine domestic production by PT INKA with imports, as INKA’s production capacity alone cannot meet the tight one-year target.

The government prioritizes rapid delivery to allow commuters to benefit from the new trainsets as soon as possible. Minister Dudy emphasized that splitting orders between local manufacturing and imports ensures timely fulfillment while maintaining quality and operational readiness for the country’s commuter rail network.
