Indonesia’s government is preparing new regulations to manage the influx of Chinese products entering the country, particularly affecting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Minister Maman Abdurrahman highlighted that the biggest challenge for local businesses is not only the import of second-hand clothing but also the massive entry of new goods via containers, often without labels or quality checks.
The incoming products, ranging from clothing, shoes, pants, watches, and other items, frequently lack proper product identification and quality standards. The government aims to implement measures to ensure imported goods meet proper standards, helping domestic products remain competitive in the local market.
