Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry reported a strong rise in sports equipment exports, reaching USD 222.3 million (IDR 3.9 trillion) as of September 2025—an 11% increase from USD 198.7 million in September 2024. Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza noted that this performance reflects continued global demand growth for Indonesian-made sports goods throughout 2025. Although the sector previously faced challenges due to US import duty policies, he confirmed that export flows are now gradually improving, with Indonesia actively competing with Vietnam and Mexico in the US market.
The ministry highlighted that Indonesia recorded a trade surplus of around USD 51.3 million in 2024 for sports equipment products, supported by USD 275.3 million in exports versus USD 211.3 million in imports. Export expansion in 2024 grew 4.6% year-on-year, driven by stronger global market positioning, particularly in major destinations such as the US (47%), South Korea (9%), Japan (9%), the Netherlands (5%), and China (5%).
