Tunisia and Indonesia are preparing to sign a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) in January 2026, under which both countries will grant tariff and trade-facilitation advantages to selected products. The pact is part of Indonesia’s efforts to expand and diversify its export markets beyond its traditional partners, tapping into opportunities in North Africa and the Mediterranean.
Under the deal, Indonesian palm oil is designated as a “priority product,” along with other agro-food exports such as bananas, cocoa, frozen fish, and yarns. This preferential treatment — lower tariffs and easier market access — is expected to boost Indonesian exports while strengthening bilateral trade ties.
