Over the period from January to October 2025, exports from the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) grew to a total value of US$460.44 million, representing a 5.68% increase compared to the same period in 2024. The bulk of this export performance was supported by the manufacturing sector, which contributed 99.14% of DIY’s exports in that timeframe.
Despite the overall annual growth, exports in October 2025 weakened — amounting to US$45.37 million, a drop of 7.05% compared to October 2024. This downturn was largely driven by a decline in the manufacturing industry, whose export value fell by 7.71%. Among the top export commodities are non-knitted garments, tanned leather goods, and knitted garments — with the United States as the largest export destination, receiving exports worth USD 198.46 million. On the import side, up to October 2025, DIY imported goods totaling USD 144.81 million, marking a 5.77% increase over the same period last year. The rise was dominated by imports of raw materials and auxiliary materials, which accounted for 89.10% of all imports.
