Indonesian snack manufacturer Sari Murni Group has formalized a major expansion into the Australian market. The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sony Trading Pty Ltd, an established Sydney-based importer, exporter, and distributor of Asian food products, at the Trade Expo Indonesia 2025. Under the agreement, Sony Trading will purchase Sari Murni’s snack products worth USD 2 million during the 2025–2027 period.
This collaboration becomes a strategic platform for Sari Murni to prove that local Indonesian snack brands can meet international quality standards and to tap into the growing Australian demand for Indonesian food & beverage products—estimated at about USD 160.5 million in 2024. The company plans to introduce its snack variants via modern-trade and premium retail channels in Australia, optimize logistics through direct shipments to Perth, and tailor product packaging to market trends in Australia.
