The Southeast Sulawesi provincial government has exported 11.7 tons of squid (Loligo sp) from Bumi Anoa to Vietnam, valued at IDR 838 million. Deputy Governor Hugua stated that this export reflects a positive trend in the region’s fisheries sector and highlights the significant potential of local marine resources. He emphasized that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to promote sustainable export activities of Southeast Sulawesi’s key commodities, including agriculture, livestock, and creative industries.
Hugua also highlighted the role of the Merah Putih Cooperatives and Fishermen Villages, established under President Prabowo Subianto’s program, in strengthening the export supply chain. With improved quality, quantity, and export infrastructure, Southeast Sulawesi’s seafood products are increasingly trusted in international markets, boosting local economic growth and supporting the livelihoods of fishermen and small-scale entrepreneurs.
