The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) is launching Garuda Spark, a digital innovation ecosystem aimed at developing two million technology-based entrepreneurs across Indonesia. Minister Meutya Hafid emphasized that this initiative supports President Prabowo's vision to extend technological progress beyond major cities, empowering local economies nationwide. Garuda Spark serves as a collaborative space for startups, investors, and industry players to foster impactful digital solutions in sectors like education, health care, agriculture, and the creative industries.
Each Garuda Spark hub functions as a co-working space, training center, mentorship platform, and financing access point for technology innovators from various regions. The first two hubs opened in Bandung and Jakarta, with two more planned in Aceh and Medan by the end of 2025. This program is designed to spark innovation and generate new jobs while promoting a more equitable distribution of Indonesia's digital ecosystem outside Java.
