Under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, Indonesia’s creative economy has shown impressive momentum. In 2025 the sector contributed 5.69 percent to national GDP and supported the creation of around 26.4 million jobs. Exports of creative-economy products reached USD 12.89 billion, representing 49 percent of a USD 26.4 billion target. In the first half of the year, the sector attracted investments of IDR 90.12 trillion (approximately USD 5.4 billion), amounting to 66 percent of the full-year target of IDR 136 trillion.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya points out that this growth reflects both the President’s policy direction and the nation’s creative potential. Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage underpins its creativity, and the ministry is actively preparing to leverage this in global markets. One key upcoming milestone is Indonesia hosting the 5th World Conference on Creative Economy in 2026, which aims to raise the nation’s profile and deepen its position in the international creative economy.
