Indonesia Launches IPFO to Attract Global Infrastructure Investment

Indonesia has officially launched the Infrastructure Project Facilitation Office (IPFO) to accelerate infrastructure investment by fostering strategic partnerships between the government, investors, and the private sector. Inaugurated by Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), the IPFO aims to reduce bureaucratic obstacles and facilitate smoother collaboration for infrastructure projects. This initiative follows the International Conference on Infrastructure (ICI) held in June, which introduced the Project Catalog 2025, featuring 46 strategic projects across transportation, energy, water, waste management, housing, and smart cities.

The minister highlighted that Indonesia needs more than USD 643.8 billion (IDR 10,300 trillion) in infrastructure investment for the 2025–2029 period, but the private sector currently contributes only 28% of that amount. The IPFO will act as an integrated coordination platform, helping investors and developers navigate procedures, prioritize projects, and monitor progress under the guidance of President Prabowo Subianto. The government also plans to use innovative funding models like land value capture, asset recycling, and limited concession schemes to promote inclusive development. AHY assured investors that the IPFO offers clarity, certainty, and support to realize financially and technically viable projects, strengthening public-private partnerships and encouraging greater private sector participation.
