Indonesia’s Government has designated seven creative‑economy subsectors as a priority until 2029 – including games, apps, fashion, culinary, crafts, films and music. Teuku Riefky Harsya, Minister of Creative Economy, announced the achievement of IDR 90 trillion (about USD 5.4 billion) in investment in the first half of 2025 — about 66% of the year’s target of IDR 136 trillion.
He highlighted four fast‑growing subsectors (games, digital apps, films/animation, music) and noted that the government will maintain strong support for all seven priority areas. He cited the global success of Indonesia’s animated film “Jumbo” and the international franchise expansion of frozen‑yogurt brand Sour Sally as examples of exportable creative economy growth.
