The World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed appreciation for Indonesia’s efforts in innovating traditional herbal medicine through modern scientific approaches. During the Sixth Annual Meeting of the WHO International Regulatory Cooperation for Herbal Medicines (WHOIRC) in Jakarta, the WHO delegation visited PT Bintang Toedjoe, a Kalbe Group company, alongside Indonesia’s Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). The visit highlighted Indonesia’s integration of local wisdom with modern research to develop herbal products that meet global standards.
PT Kalbe Farma’s President Director, Irawati Setiady, stated that their production facilities follow international best practices and hold certifications such as CPOBAB, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. This initiative supports the creation of a sustainable and self-reliant national healthcare system by leveraging the economic and medicinal potential of natural ingredients.
