Indramayu Regency is actively preparing for mango exports by improving farming practices and meeting international export standards. Efforts include garden restructuring, pest control, and enhancing post-harvest quality. The local government, in collaboration with farmers and supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, is working to ensure compliance with all export requirements. Key actions involve registering orchards, maintaining detailed management records, ensuring proper sanitation, and keeping fields free from pests such as fruit flies.
Post-harvest infrastructure is also being upgraded, including proper storage facilities to maintain premium fruit quality. Indramayu, the largest mango-producing region in West Java, recorded a production of 1.25 million quintals in 2024, far exceeding other areas like Sumedang (698,250.19 quintals) and Cirebon (447,769.58 quintals). The local government is continuing to assist farmers and coordinate with exporters to support this export initiative.
