Amid global trade tensions, Indonesia and the United States continue to foster a strong strategic partnership through robust investment in key sectors such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The US has consistently ranked in the top 10 foreign investors in Indonesia, contributing USD 14.85 billion from 2020 to the first half of 2025—mainly in the manufacturing and mining sectors. This cooperation is expected to strengthen Indonesia’s competitiveness through technology transfer and workforce development.
According to the US-ASEAN Business Council’s 2025 report, 35 US companies have invested more than USD 67 billion in Indonesia from 2014–2023, with an indirect economic impact of USD 128 billion. These investments include workforce training for over 5 million individuals, digital and STEM education for 60,000 students and teachers, and creation of nearly 1 million jobs through MSME development and digital transformation. With a focus on energy, agriculture, and digital sectors, the US remains a key strategic partner in achieving Indonesia’s 2045 Golden Vision.
