The West Java provincial government, in collaboration with Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade, is leveraging the upcoming West Java Expo (WJX) 2025 as a major platform to expand exports into non-traditional markets. The expo, from 15-19 October 2025 at ICE BSD during the Trade Expo Indonesia 40, will feature over 50 carefully selected export businesses from sectors including food & beverage, fashion, personal care, and industrial technology.
As of September 2025, trade cooperation between the central and regional governments has generated more than USD 100 million (approx. IDR 1.4 trillion), with about half of that amount already confirmed through purchase orders. There is growing demand from buyers in regions such as East Asia, India, Lebanon, and Africa, especially for Indonesian food & drink and industrial goods. Key untapped markets being targeted include Central Asia, the Middle East, Pakistan, and India, due to their increasing purchasing power. This signals a strategic shift for West Java to diversify export destinations beyond traditional markets like the United States.
