Japanese Investment Raises the Country's Economy, Indonesia Exports 3 Million Cars

Indonesia has reached a significant milestone in its automotive industry, marked by the export of 3 million cars, largely driven by Toyota’s long-standing investment in the country. Member of the House of Representatives, Rachmat Gobel, emphasized that this achievement reflects the strength of Indonesia’s manufacturing sector and the success of cooperation with Japanese investors.

He noted that Japanese investment—particularly from Toyota—has greatly contributed to economic growth, job creation, and technology transfer, helping position Indonesia as a key automotive production hub in the global market. With Toyota’s production facilities in Sunter and Karawang, and more than 50 years of operation in Indonesia, the company has invested around IDR 100 trillion and now exports vehicles to over 100 countries. Gobel encouraged continued collaboration with Japan to sustain this momentum and further strengthen Indonesia’s economic foundation.
