Papua Province has been nominated for the 2025 Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD) Award by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) of Indonesia, marking a significant milestone in its efforts to build a more inclusive financial ecosystem in the region. Andry, Head of the Provincial Bureau of Economy and Development Administration, noted that financial services in Papua have improved substantially, especially following the creation of new autonomous regions, which has led to greater local financial activity and institutions. He emphasized that the provincial government plans to intensify cooperation with financial industry partners to broaden access to productive financing for MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises) and Papua’s priority economic sectors.
Governor Matius D. Fakhiri expressed pride in being among the top-10 nominees for the award, calling it a motivation to continue expanding financial services access and improving financial literacy across Papua. He affirmed the government’s commitment to cross-sector collaboration aimed at ensuring that economic growth benefits all, even in the most remote areas, to achieve inclusive and sustainable development for Papua.
