Indonesia Exports Live Chicken Worth IDR 1.8 Billion to Singapore

Indonesia, via its Ministry of Agriculture, has exported live chickens to Singapore valued at IDR 1.8 billion. Director General of Livestock and Animal Health, Agung Suganda, said this export demonstrates the international competitiveness of Indonesia’s poultry industry, noting that the chickens meet Singapore Food Agency (SFA) standards for animal health and product quality. He emphasized that Indonesia is the only country currently able to export live chickens across borders while fulfilling stringent health and food-safety requirements. The exported volume was 28,512 chickens, equivalent to 57 tons, handled by the company PT Indojaya Agrinusa (a subsidiary of Japfa Comfeed Indonesia).

The shipment departed from Sri Payung Port in Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands, on 6 October 2025. This marks the second of three planned export phases in 2025, and since 2023, Indonesia has exported a total of 148,000 live chickens to Singapore. Agung also said this export underlines Indonesia’s capacity to produce in a way that satisfies global standards in disease control, animal welfare, logistics, and certification.
