The EU Ambassador to Indonesia, Denis Chaibi, praised PTPN IV PalmCo for aligning its business strategy with key sustainability pillars during his visit to palm plantations and rambutan gardens in North Sumatra on October 7, 2025. He highlighted PalmCo’s emphasis on product downstreaming, renewable energy development, and strengthening palm farmers as core to its sustainable industry approach.
During the visit, Ambassador Denis remarked that PalmCo serves as a model for compliance and commitment. He noted strong support from European firms like Unilever in downstreaming operations, applauded PalmCo’s use of compressed biogas, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and hydrogen technologies, and stressed the importance of empowering smallholder farmers to meet EU deforestation regulations (EUDR).
