Governor of Riau Islands Province, Ansar Ahmad, officially launched the first-ever sea-based export of live chickens from Asia to Singapore on Monday (October 6, 2025). The export, managed by PT Indojaya Agrinusa—a subsidiary of PT JAPFA Comfeed Indonesia Tbk—was conducted from Sri Payung Port in Tanjungpinang. The event was attended by key stakeholders, including the Director General of Livestock and Animal Health at the Ministry of Agriculture, Agung Suganda, as well as representatives from customs, local government, and company management.
The shipment involved 28,512 live chickens (57 tons) in six containers, valued at approximately IDR 1.8 billion. This marked PT Indojaya Agrinusa’s second export in 2025 and its seventh overall since May 2023. The chickens were transported over an 11-hour sea journey with a mortality rate of under 1%, which was highlighted as a key achievement in meeting Singapore’s stringent standards. JAPFA's management emphasized their commitment to balancing export activities with domestic supply, ensuring food security in Kepri. The Indonesian government praised the milestone, seeing it as proof of local capacity to meet international standards, while pledging full support to ensure sustainable poultry development and ongoing cooperation with Singapore.
