Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to advancing effective international development cooperation at the Busan Global Partnership Forum 2025, held in Seoul on September 30–October 1. Representing Indonesia as Co-Chair of the Global Partnership on Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC), Deputy Minister of National Development Planning Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard delivered the opening remarks, underscoring the principles of sovereignty, results-driven approaches, inclusive partnerships, transparency, and accountability. He stressed that effectiveness is a moral imperative to ensure cooperation delivers tangible benefits, particularly for vulnerable groups. Indonesia also actively contributed as a panelist in the thematic session “Strengthening Inclusive Partnerships and Institutionalized Knowledge Sharing for a New Era” and chaired the GPEDC Steering Committee Meeting.
During the forum, which gathered representatives from over 100 countries, international organizations, civil society, academia, and the private sector, Indonesia showcased its achievements in South-South and Triangular Cooperation, having provided capacity-building programs for more than 140 partner countries. Indonesia highlighted the importance of data-driven governance, establishing national Centers of Excellence, and developing integrated information systems to improve transparency and accountability in development cooperation. On the sidelines, Deputy Minister Febrian also held bilateral talks with OECD Development Assistance Committee Chair Carsten Staur, reinforcing Indonesia’s role as a bridge between traditional donors and the Global South, while advancing its OECD accession process. This participation aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita and Indonesia’s Golden Vision 2045, positioning the country as a proactive leader in shaping inclusive and result-oriented global development frameworks.
