Indonesia’s Ministry of Manpower (Kementerian Ketenagakerjaan/Kemnaker) has reinforced its commitment to developing an inclusive employment ecosystem, ensuring that persons with disabilities gain access to meaningful jobs and independence. Speaking at the ministry’s Labour Market Centre in Jakarta on Friday, Director of Special Manpower Placement Anggun Sintana emphasised the need for synergy between government, industry, and society to create a truly inclusive workforce.
To realise this goal, Kemnaker is implementing a three-pronged strategy. It covers strengthening regulations and monitoring, enhancing Disability Service Units with trained staff and digital systems, and improving job readiness through adaptive training programs at Job Training Centres (BLKs). By collaborating with disability organisations to co-develop curricula and promoting public awareness, the ministry aims to build stronger social partnerships while ensuring equal opportunity. Officials believe these steps will help persons with disabilities maximise their potential and contribute actively to Indonesia’s workforce.
