Indonesia has recorded potential export deals worth approximately USD 2.13 million (around IDR 35.3 billion) for its snack and confectionery products at the ISM Middle East 2025 fair held 15–17 September at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The Indonesian pavilion, organised together by ITPC Dubai and the Indonesian Consulate with support from the Trade Ministry, featured six companies—from large manufacturers to MSMEs—showcasing items such as biscuits, chocolate, traditional snacks, marshmallows, as well as healthier options like granola.
This exposure comes at a strategic moment and offers several advantages. With the UAE’s multicultural population, a growing youth segment seeking innovative flavours, and strong trends toward healthier lifestyles and tourism, the demand for diverse snack foods is increasing. Moreover, trade is aided by the Indonesia-UAE CEPA (effective since 1 September 2023), which has eliminated import tariffs on Indonesian snack and confectionery items entering the UAE, and Indonesia’s halal certification helps its products gain trust in these markets. This opens up Dubai not only as a destination market but also as a gateway for distribution across the Middle East and Africa.
