On 17 September 2025, Deputy Minister of Transmigration Viva Yoga Mauladi visited South Manokwari, accompanied by the Governor of South Manokwari Dominggus Mandacan. During this visit, the Governor highlighted the superior quality of South Manokwari's chocolate products, highlighting exports of these products to the Netherlands, Belgium and France. The Deputy Minister of Transmigration has stated that this could represent a significant opportunity for the development of the transmigration area, particularly in Oransbari, South Manokwari, through the establishment of new investments, in particular a chocolate factory. Further technical details of this initiative will be provided in order to facilitate the development of the transmigration area.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister of Transmigration also announced that South Manokwari would receive an Additional Expenditure Budget (ABT) of IDR 7.7 billion for the development of the transmigration area. The budget will be used to build toilets and clean water facilities in three elementary schools and one junior high school in the Momi Waren transmigration area. Furthermore, four elementary schools and two junior high schools in Momi Waren are to be restored, as well as two church buildings in South Manokwari. The ABT for South Manokwari will also be used to repair a 1.5-kilometre road in Dembek Village, Momi Waren District.
