On 16 September 2025, during CNBC Indonesia's Evening Up programme, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Susiwijono Moegiarso explained that the SEZs Investment Summit and Awards (ISA) 2025 is expected to attract more investment to Special Economic Zones, as well as facilitate discussion between potential investors. At present, the total value of investments in Special Economic Zones stands at IDR 294 trillion, with a workforce of 187,000 people. He stated that the SEZs Investment Summit and Awards 2025 event will provide the ideal forum for discussing investment issues, ranging from licensing to strategic matters and global policies that affect the business climate. Furthermore, the Secretary General of the National Council for Special Economic Zones, Rizal Edwin, emphasised Indonesia's significant potential as an investment destination, particularly in light of the government's strategic emphasis on promoting downstream sectors.
The SEZs Investment Summit and Awards 2025 is scheduled to take place on 11-12 November 2025 in Jakarta, with 500 participants to be in attendance. It is anticipated that this event will contribute to the realisation of economic growth targets, notably through the implementation of special economic zones. Indonesia's Special Economic Zones are focused on developing high-value-added and export-oriented industries, improving connectivity, strengthening the service sector, and implementing green development principles. With consistent policies and supportive regulations, Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are expected to be a major catalyst in enhancing Indonesia's global competitiveness. The event will bring together relevant parties to highlight tangible achievements in investment and job creation. Furthermore, the agenda includes discussions on six new Special Economic Zones (SEZs), the direction of SEZ targets for 2025-2029, and their contribution to Astacita.
