In the first half of 2025, Indonesia exported various traditional medicine products to several countries, with the Philippines leading as the top export destination, reaching a total value of USD 477,050. Following the Philippines were Taiwan with USD 283,650, Cambodia with USD 122,440, and Singapore with USD 104,580. Other notable export markets included Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Nigeria, Myanmar, Timor Leste, and Hong Kong, each recording export values below USD 20,000.
Traditional medicines in Indonesia encompass products derived primarily from plant-based ingredients, sometimes combined with animal or mineral substances. These products are processed into various forms such as jamu, standardised herbal medicines (OHT), and phytopharmaceuticals. The rising global demand for such products is driven by a growing interest in natural health remedies, affordability compared to modern medicine, and innovative packaging that attracts younger consumers.
