During the BRICS Leaders Virtual Meeting held on Monday, 8 September 2025, President Prabowo Subianto highlighted BRICS as a crucial pillar of stability and optimism within the ever-shifting landscape of global geopolitics. He noted that the world is currently experiencing significant instability while the principles of multilateralism are being tested. With BRICS accounting for over 55% of the global population and more than 40% of global GDP, Prabowo underscored the bloc’s remarkable economic strength, expansive markets, and abundant natural resources. He reaffirmed Indonesia's strong support for BRICS and stressed the importance of continued collaboration among member nations.
President Prabowo also called for enhanced openness, coordination, and closer cooperation to collectively address global uncertainties. He described BRICS as holding a moral responsibility to drive the creation of a fairer, more balanced world order. Indonesia’s active engagement in the forum reflects its commitment to strengthening solidarity among BRICS countries and promoting more inclusive and sustainable international cooperation
