Indonesia has recently granted approval for 17 additional Brazilian meatpacking plants to export beef to its market. This brings the total number of Brazil’s approved exporters to 38, marking an 80% increase in the number of Brazilian facilities allowed to supply beef to Indonesia. The decision reflects growing confidence in Brazilian beef production and bolsters trade opportunities between the two nations.
This expansion not only opens the door to additional export volumes but also signals a strategic strengthening of Brazil’s presence in Southeast Asia’s burgeoning protein market. Alongside earlier deals that enabled Brazil to export bone-in beef, offal, and processed meat products, this development underlines Brazil’s push to diversify beyond traditional markets like China and adapt to evolving trade dynamics and dietary demand in Indonesia
