Between January and August 2025, Indonesia’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) achieved a total of USD 90.9 million (IDR 1.49 trillion) in confirmed and potential overseas transactions, according to the Trade Ministry. The government’s export-focused support program, which spans sectors such as fashion, crafts, furniture, home décor, food & beverages, and spices, backed 110 MSMEs and orchestrated 462 business-matching events—including 312 pitching sessions and 150 meetings with international buyers. Confirmed purchase orders accounted for USD 55.95 million, while prospective deals reached USD 34.95 million. Notably, in August alone, confirmed orders amounted to USD 861,000, underscoring steadily rising demand for Indonesian products on the global stage.
Trade Minister Budi Santoso highlighted that the success reflects how proper mentoring and exposure to global buyers empower MSMEs to compete with larger enterprises. Director General Fajarini Puntodewi attributed these results to effective coordination between trade representatives, mentoring institutions, and the MSMEs themselves. Looking ahead, the ministry plans to continue expanding MSMEs’ access to international markets by providing additional support in certification, logistics, and financing. The ministry also emphasised a strong commitment to gender inclusion, aiming to empower Indonesian women entrepreneurs in global trade
