In early September 2025, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto confirmed that the Indonesian government plans to broaden its economic stimulus measures in the second half of the year. Existing programs—such as wage subsidies for workers—will be expanded to reach more beneficiaries.
These expanded efforts build upon earlier initiatives, including continued wage subsidies for workers earning under IDR 10 million, income tax exemptions, housing support via KUR and home renovation programs, and protection against potential mass layoffs through industrial deregulation—particularly in Java—anticipated to generate over 100,000 new jobs.
