Nut processing plants in Cikarang and Pati are increasingly busy meeting demand from the food industry and retail chains. A range of products, from almonds and cashews to hazelnuts and even fruit jams, continue to roll off the production lines. This activity reflects the business conditions of PT Gunanusa Eramandiri Tbk (GUNA), a publicly listed nut processing company that recently reported solid performance in the second quarter of 2025. Amidst increasingly dynamic market dynamics, the company achieved 27% net profit growth compared to the same period last year. In its public expose report, GUNA management stated that the company's revenue reached IDR 792 billion in the second quarter of 2025, a 13% year-on-year increase. Operating profit increased 51% to IDR 62 billion, while net profit was recorded at IDR 28 billion, a 27% increase compared to IDR 22 billion in the second quarter of 2024.
Gross profit margin also improved from 11.2% to 12.75%. The company emphasized that this improvement was primarily driven by production cost efficiencies and increased productivity at the factory. The manufacturing and services business segment still dominates, contributing 56% of total sales, followed by nut products at 39%, and the remainder from other lines such as cubic printing. The company is targeting sales of IDR 1.48 trillion throughout 2025 with a net profit margin of 4.5%. As of the first half of this year, sales realization has reached 53% of the annual target. To drive growth, GUNA is preparing an expansion strategy into the Chinese market. Export trials are currently underway after the company obtained permission from the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC). Production cost efficiency, increased productivity, and the adoption of new technologies are focused to strengthen operational performance. GUNA focused on efficiency, preparing significant investments to increase capacity. A new factory is being planned in the Indonesia-China Integrated Industrial Zone (KITIC) in Cikarang, with an investment value of IDR 205 billion.
