On 3 September 2025, during a working meeting with Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita reported on the performance of the non-oil and gas processing industry (IPNM) or manufacturing to Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives. In terms of investment, Agus stated that during the January-June 2025 period, the Non-Oil and Gas Manufacturing Industry (IPNM) contributed IDR 366.6 trillion in investment. This figure represents 39% of the total investment realisation during that period, which reached IDR 942.9 trillion. Agus considers this to be a key asset in ensuring the continued expansion, innovation and job creation in the manufacturing sector.
According to Agus, investor confidence in the Non-Oil and Gas Processing Industry (IPNM) or manufacturing sector is consistently strengthening. Meanwhile, in terms of exports, in the first half of 2025, the Non-Oil and Gas Processing Industry (IPNM) or manufacturing contributed USD 128.13 billion, representing 80% of the total national exports of USD 160.16 billion. Cumulatively, from January to July 2025, Indonesia's trade surplus reached USD 23.65 billion, primarily attributable to a non-oil and gas commodity trade surplus of USD 34.06 billion.
