Bank Bjb Participates in IDR 600 Billion Strategic Chemical Project

On 26 August 2025, Bank Bjb entered into a syndicated loan agreement with PT Hidrogen Peroxida Indonesia (HPI), totalling IDR 600 billion. With a tenor of 90 months (approximately seven and a half years), including a grace period. This initiative underscores Bank Bjb's commitment to fostering the growth of strategic industries through its proactive engagement in substantial financing arrangements. Bank Bjb is involved as Joint Mandated Lead Arranger (JMLA), together with Bank Victoria as Joint Mandated Lead Arranger & Bookrunner in the syndicated credit facility for PT HPI in Serang, Banten. Bank Bjb's involvement in this project indicates the growing role of regional banks in major national strategic initiatives. In addition to focusing on regional financing, the bank is also showcasing its capacity to support the real sector, which generates high levels of added value for the economy. The syndicated credit facility, with a total ceiling of IDR 600 billion, involved eight banks. Bank Victoria contributed IDR 200 billion, Bank Sinarmas IDR 100 billion, Bank Kalteng, Bank Nagari, Bank Sulselbar, Bank INA Perdana and OK Bank each contributed IDR 50 billion, and Bank Bjb contributed IDR 50 billion.

Construction of the PT HPI hydrogen peroxide plant entails collaboration with the international contractor Nuberg Engineering India Ltd, with technological support provided by Nuberg Sweden. This project also has high strategic value because it addresses the basic needs of various industrial sectors. Hydrogen peroxide is a highly versatile product, with a wide range of industrial applications. It is used extensively in the pulp and paper, textile, pharmaceutical, mineral mining, and electronics industries. At present, the majority of domestic demand for hydrogen peroxide is met through imports. It is anticipated that the new plant in Serang, Indonesia, will have a domestic production capacity of 20,000 Metric Tons Per Annum (MTPA) of 100% H2O2, thereby reducing the country's reliance on foreign supplies. Approximately 70% of the plant's production is targeted for the domestic market, while 30% is allocated for the export market. Furthermore, the hydrogen peroxide plant in Serang is also expected to stimulate the development of a chemical industry zone in Banten.
