The Indonesia Eximbank Launches Central Java Export Strategy Book

The Indonesia Eximbank Institute has released a publication titled "Central Java Dares to Go Global," (Jawa Tengah Berani Mendunia), a comprehensive study outlining strategies to position Central Java as a dominant player in the global market. This book was compiled through cross-institutional collaboration. The study provides insights into the economic landscape and export potential of Central Java, including an analysis of key sectors such as textiles, furniture, food and beverages, footwear, and fishery products. Furthermore, it explores financing strategies, the empowerment of micro, small and medium enterprises, and the enhancement of the export ecosystem. In Q2 of 2025, Central Java's economy grew by 5.28%, and investment realisation in the first half of the year reached IDR 45.58 trillion, the highest on the island of Java. The study book contains data showing that Central Java's exports grew by 8.25% (year-on-year) in the January-June 2025 period, exceeding the national export growth of 7.77%. The company's main export destinations include the United States, the Netherlands, Australia, China, and South Korea.

The launch of this study book is a joint initiative to enhance the competitiveness of Central Java products in the global market. All stakeholders are invited to collaborate in improving export literacy, business matching, certification, financing and branding of Central Java products. This book is poised to be a practical guide to optimising Central Java's export potential. Furthermore, this book is intended to serve as both a policy document and a catalyst for local businesses to explore opportunities in international markets. The food and beverage industry is currently facing challenges in its role as a driver of exports, due to its suboptimal performance in this area. Notably, it is the primary contributor to the GRDP, accounting for 45.5%. However, the region's exports are still dominated by the textile, wood products, footwear, and furniture sectors, which collectively contribute around 14% to the GRDP of the manufacturing industry.
