The lively 2025 Sharia Economic Festival (Selaras), held by the Bank Indonesia Representative Office (KPw BI) Purwokerto at the Satria Purwokerto Sports Center in Banyumas Regency, Central Java, on August 30-31st, successfully recorded total transactions of up to IDR 3.6 billion. Christoveny, Head of the BI Representative Office in Purwokerto, stated in Purwokerto on Monday that the total IDR 3.6 billion in transactions came from various key activities, including sales of MSME products reaching IDR 1.3 billion, potential financing from Islamic financial institutions amounting to IDR 680 million, and export business matching transactions amounting to IDR 1.13 billion. Furthermore, he said, Bank Indonesia's mobile cash service for exchanging currency fit for circulation (ULE) also recorded exchanges of IDR 515 million. "This activity collected 800 productive waqf donations, each valued at IDR 2,025, to support the construction of a greenhouse at the Al Ihtijad Islamic Boarding School," he said.
This figure reflects the growing public support and interest in the sharia economy and encourages the development of the halal industry in Greater Banyumas, which encompasses the regencies of Banyumas, Cilacap, Purbalingga, and Banjarnegara. He further stated that Selaras 2025, with the theme "Synergy of Sharia Economics and Finance: Strengthening Regional Economic Stability and Independence," is part of the Java Sharia Economic Festival (FESyar) and the Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) 2025. Therefore, he said, various supporting initiatives were launched at Selaras 2025, including the launch of the Halal, Safe, and Healthy Culinary Zone (Zona KHAS) in Sokaraja and the declaration of the Movement to Reject Online Gambling and Illegal Online Loans. According to him, the pillars of sharia economic development are also being strengthened through the awarding of halal certifications; strengthening Zakat, Infaq, Sedekah, and Waqf (ZISWAF); and central banking education. "This festival successfully attracted around 8,020 visitors," said Christoveny.
