The Ministry of Trade, through its Directorate General for National Export Development, celebrated the inaugural shipment of Finna Pars shrimp crackers to Malaysia. On August 28, 2025, in Sidoarjo, East Java, Director General Fajarini Puntodewi witnessed PT Sekar Laut Tbk export a 40-foot container valued at USD 7,086 (approximately IDR 115 million). This milestone marks not only a commercial achievement but also serves as an inspiration for other promising Indonesian products to enter international markets and strengthen their presence in global supply chains.
The journey to this milestone began in early 2023, when PT Sekar Laut, with support from the Indonesian Trade Attaché in Kuala Lumpur, partnered with Malaysia’s Kara Marketing Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.Following rigorous preparation and compliance with export standards, the partnership came to fruition this year. Looking ahead, PT Sekar Laut aims to export up to 38 containers by 2026, targeting total revenue of IDR 4.5 billion. At the same time, Kara Marketing plans to expand the Malaysian distribution of other PT Sekar Laut products . The momentum for Indonesian processed flour-based food exports, including shrimp crackers, remains strong; from January to June 2025, these exports reached USD 65 million—representing a 54% increase over the same period the previous year.
