The Indonesian Ministry of Industry has highlighted a standout performance in the country’s food and beverage (mamin) sector, noting a successful export milestone with shipments reaching African markets. The report emphasized this achievement as part of broader efforts to expand market reach and strengthen export diversification across non-traditional destinations.
This export success adds to an already impressive 2025 performance: from January to April, the sector generated export revenues totaling USD 14.66 billion, compared to USD 4.23 billion in imports—resulting in a trade surplus of approximately USD 10.43 billion. Investment in the food and beverage industry also surged, reaching IDR 22.64 trillion in the first quarter. The sector comprised 41.15% of the non-oil and gas processing industry's contribution to GDP, and 7.2% of Indonesia’s overall GDP, showcasing its strategic importance to the national economy.
