The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) noted that Indonesia-South Korea trade performance during the January-June 2025 period continued to show a positive trend. Indonesia's exports to South Korea reached USD 4.83 billion, equivalent to IDR 79.6 trillion (exchange rate of IDR 16,493), while Indonesia's imports from South Korea reached USD 4.16 billion, equivalent to IDR 68.6 trillion. "Indonesia recorded a surplus with South Korea of USD 663.30 million. Total trade between Indonesia and South Korea was valued at USD 8.99 billion," said Fajarini Puntodewi, Director General of National Export Development (PEN) at the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, in an official statement on Friday (August 19). As part of its efforts to boost exports, the Ministry of Trade has partnered with 12 leading furniture companies to participate in the Korea International Furniture and Interior Fair (KOFURN) 2025, the largest international furniture and interior exhibition in South Korea. The exhibition will take place from August 28–31st, 2025, at Kintex 2, Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province.
Indonesia's participation is the result of a collaboration between the Ministry of Trade, the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul, the Indonesian Trade Attaché (Atdag) in Seoul, and Indonesia Eximbank. "The Indonesian Pavilion's participation in KOFURN 2025 is a strategic effort to introduce high-quality Indonesian furniture products and strengthen Indonesia's position in the South Korean furniture market," said Fajarini Puntodewi. The Deputy Chief of Mission of the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul, Ali Andika Wardhana, hopes this participation will open up greater trade opportunities. "We hope Indonesian companies can establish concrete collaborations and secure trade contracts with business partners in South Korea and abroad," he said on Thursday (August 28). The 12 selected furniture companies will occupy the 108 m² Indonesian Pavilion. They are: PT Berkat Bintang Sejati, CV Bumi Karya Abimana, CV Hasibuan Designs Furniture, PT Homeware International Indonesia, PT Inkase Indo Corpora, CV Jati Home Indonesia, PT Koloni Timur, CV Maharani, PT Philnesia International, UD Sentana Art Wood, CV Sinar Mas, CV Sorajati Dharma Biru.
