PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk has reinforced its export initiative by establishing strategic partnerships with local poultry farmers, aiming to increase live chicken exports to Singapore. To date, Japfa has completed six shipments of chickens weighing between 1.8 and 2 kilograms each, with prices reaching approximately SGD 2.6 per kilogram (around IDR 25,000), excluding processing and logistics costs. Despite this momentum, Japfa continues to limit export volumes to safeguard food security in the Riau Islands region, in line with local government directives.
Currently, the company achieves a monthly production rate of 400,000 birds and aims to raise this to between 600,000 and 800,000. If realized, this enhanced capacity could facilitate more frequent shipments up to four times per month. Japfa also promotes balance in supply and demand by partnering with local growers to avoid oversupply-induced price drops. Regional veterinary authorities are involved to ensure all exported poultry meets health standards and receives proper certification before export.
