Indonesia Pavilion Records Potential Transactions in Gaming and Intellectual Property Worth IDR 273.12 Billion at the Gamescom 2025

On 20-22 August 2025, Gamescom 2025, the world's largest annual gaming exhibition, was held in Cologne, Germany. The Indonesian Pavilion took part in the event and generated potential transactions totalling USD 17.07 million or IDR 273.12 billion. These potential transactions were derived from the game development services sub-sector and other intellectual property. These potential transaction records are the results of a recapitulation as of 25 August 2025, and may still increase as records are updated and follow-ups are made after the exhibition. This potential transaction has the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the local game industry while demonstrating the competitiveness of Indonesian game industry players. Minister of Trade Budi Santoso has stated that the realisation of this achievement is expected to generate an estimated 40% increase in revenue for the local gaming industry, which reached IDR 700 billion in 2024. During the exhibition, the Indonesian Pavilion welcomed over 500 companies, game project owners and publishers. Prospective partners were present from Germany, the United States, France, Japan, the Netherlands, China, and the United Kingdom.

The Indonesian Pavilion presented 10 domestic game industry players, namely Agate, Busy Beaver Studio, Digital Happiness, Gambir Studio, Lapakgaming, Kumagema, Rizero Studios, Separuh Interactive, SLAB, and GU-Studio. These industry leaders offer a range of services, including game development and intellectual property management. Indonesia's participation in Gamescom 2025 is part of the government's efforts to expand market access for game development and IP services, increase global Indonesian businesses and support local industry development as stipulated in Presidential Regulation No. 19 of 2024 on the Acceleration of National Game Industry Development. Delegates at the Indonesian Pavilion also participated in a series of post-exhibition events on 23–24 August 2025. The Entertainment Arena offered a variety of entertainment, including stages for live performances, cosplay, and interactive game demonstrations. The Event Arena featured international electronic sports (e-sports) competitions.
